The National Institute of Health Doctor Ricardo Jorge (INSA) and the International Measurement Confederation – IMEKO, are organizing the IMEKO 2013 Symposium on Recent Advances on Traceability of Chemistry , Food and Nutrition Measurements, from 22 to 25 September 2013.
This Symposium will take place in INSA located in Av. Padre Cruz, Lisbon, Portugal.

The National Institute of Health Dr. Ricardo Jorge (INSA) is a century old institution created in 1899 by Ricardo Jorge, a public health medical doctor. INSA is a central department of the Portuguese Ministry of Health, with scientific, technical, administrative and financial autonomy, depending directly from the Minister of Health. Developing activities as the main laboratory of the Portuguese health system and also as State Laboratory, incorporates functions of national observatory and national reference laboratory in the Portuguese health sector.

INSA has operative units in Lisbon, Porto (Center of Public Health Dr. Gonçalves Ferreira) and in Águas-de-Moura (Center of Study and Vectors and Infectious Diseases Dr. Francisco Cambournac) and is organized in six departments: Food and Nutrition Department; Infectious Diseases Department; Epidemiology Department; Genetics Department; Health Promotion and Chronic Diseases Department; Environmental Health Department.
