    Concepts, axioms, epistemological foundations, social and ethical aspects, rules, principles, methods, and procedures underlying the obtaining, processing, expression, communication, and interpretation of correct and reliable results of measurements of physical and non-physical quantities, including psychosocial measurements, as well as the assessment of nominal properties.

    Developing measurement science and best practice applied in industry, environmental protection, healthcare, safety and quality of life.

  • Measurements in Life Sciences

    T3

    Measurement of whole-body, organ, and cellular function; measurements in the clinical laboratory; medical imaging; medical information systems; diagnosis and medical decision-making; knowledge-based systems; intelligent instrumentation in medicine and healthcare.

  • Mathematical and statistical modelling

    T4

    Data analysis, machine learning and uncertainty quantification, AI in measurement systems and data processing, knowledge representation and reasoning, trustworthiness of data, models, algorithms, and software.

  • Digitalization

    Fundamental concepts of measurement science that relate to digitalisation and digital transformation in science, industry, and society: digital representation and use of metrological information, digital transformation in traceability and the quality infrastructure, metrology for digitalisation and digital technologies in industry and science.
